TRAINING STAFF
Meet the Trainer
Kathy Ward began training dogs eighteen years ago. She owned and operated Washington Canine University in Washington, Pennsylvania for over fifteen years. Through the years Kathy has taught a variety of classes including Puppy Kindergarten, Basic Obedience, Companion Dog class, Companion Dog Excellent class, Utility class, Rally class, Agility, and Conformation. She has hosted many seminars and she served on the board of Keystone Canine Club from 1993 to 1996.
Currently, Kathy owns, loves and trains five Collies and one German Wirehair. She is working toward her third CDX title with her dog Noah, who is also just one major shy of finishing his conformation championship as well. She shows in Rally competitions and continues to keep her dogs active in herding, tracking, hunting and therapy work.
Kathy feels very strongly about using positive teaching methods, including but not limited to: behavior modification, praise and reward, muscle memory techniques, response training, charting and teaching people consistency. She is forever awed by her clients and their dogs and knows that all dogs are perfect at being dogs we just have to learn how to think like them in order to achieve results.
